A Word from Managing Director, Mark Smith
October was another productive month, the highlight of which was the installation of our brand-new welding machine! After a few too many sleepless nights, it is a relief to have it in place. We have also upgraded our hydraulic test rig, which has not only tripled the number of cylinders that we can pressure test simultaneously but has also significantly reduced the time it takes to test each cylinder, through a high-flow filling and draining system.
Both are part of our plans to shorten the lead times that have grown unexpectedly in recent months. To help bring them down even more, our next goal is to add a foam injection machine to our casing process. We expect that this will at least double the number of cylinders that we can case per day.
Last month also saw the release of the ‘Super Cylinder’. Formerly known as ‘The HG Series’, v3.0 of the Heat Geek-designed Super Cylinder boasts numerous improvements, including five new models, IMI expansion vessels as standard, and four new upgrade options, including the option to increase the insulation thickness from 50mm to 75mm.
The development of this version was heavily guided by the feedback and suggestions that we received from those who had installed v2.0 cylinders. So a big thank you to everyone who contributed to these improvements. I hope that the Super Cylinders are now even more versatile and will save you some valuable installation time.
While we were in the Manchester area, looking at new machinery, Andrew and I popped in to visit our pals at World Heat. Our friendship with Pete and Mark Sidebottom stems back from our fathers, Barry and my late dad John.
It was great to catch up again and talk shop among two sets of brothers with a longstanding connection in cylinder production.
As always. thank you for being a Newark Cylinders customer. We never take your loyalty and trust for granted.
Please reach out if you need anything – we’re happy to help.
